The word think is very hard to define. in the old ages, being able to add and subtract is. The computer is determined to be intelligent if it acts enough like a human. considered gifted with special powers. but today doing so doesn"t mean anything. Alan turing (ai researcher) computer and human and the judge had to decide which room was the human based on the information received. as humans in creating a natural language. Conclusion, today, is that computers may be better at arithmetic but not as good. Taking language, for example, computers don"t understand the language, they only know how to spell check and translate because they are coded to do so with very complex software. Computers are programed to understand the environment of chess (8x8 checker boxes and legal moves). The computer uses thinking where we evaluate different options and proceed with the best one.
