Document Summary

She has suffered no substantial injury or has any other complaints. The patient simply wants to evaluate her overall flexibility. Six tests where administered in order to appraise her flexibility. These tests are as follows ankle flexibility, shoulder elevation, trunk extension, sit-and-reach, thomas test and straight-leg-raise. This test is used to measure a person"s ability to flex and extend the ankle. To properly administer the test, the administer needs to have the patient sit on a flat surface with their socks removed. Then keeping the heel on the ground the patient will then dorsiflex as much as possible keeping the toes pointed. This angle created at the ankle joint will then be measured using a protractor. This will be done for both dorsiflexion and plantar flexion for both ankles. The difference of the two scores will be the ankle flexibility score, that will then be compared to a set of normative data.
