Population- group of species of the same organism living in the same area. Dna of humans differ from that of chimpanzees by less than 5% Mutations occur when changes in genes are mistakenly copied. Can result from dna damaged by ultraviolet rays and toxic chemicals. Mutations that have no affect at all silent mutations .
