Document Summary

A literate person is not just someone being able to read and write. Being literate is a multifaceted concept, which could also mean a well-educated and sophisticated human being. I define literate as a person being skilled with not only reading, but with any common or uncommon talent. Being literate takes training growing up as a child. At the age of 5, during the summer, i battled with reading hundreds of books when i wanted to play the entire break. I was starting kindergarten in the next two months, and my grandma bought me several books to read before i started a new chapter in life. During the summer, most kids want to play, watch television, swim, play video games, ride horses, play with toys, go to the park, eat snowballs, and enjoy the time they have before school begins again. My grandma was a very intelligent woman who always wanted the best for my future.
