Document Summary

Pathogenic bacteria made nonpathogenic, pathogenic because of the body heat. Different species have different at to gc ratios. Gets bigger and bigger until replicated on both sides. Needs a primase or rna primer to replicate (can be rna or dna) Makes primer to make dna polymerase replicate dna. Helps fill in the gaps in the lagging strand. Nucleotides only add to the 3" end of a dna strand. Toward the fork and away from the fork. Dna pol iii does the most of the replication on both leading and lagging strand. Dna pol i is specialized in chewing up old rna and lays down new unit. Lagging strand has about 100 nucleotides less than leading but no more than that. Has to be cut out because it won"t pair. Nucleases cut out a big stretch of dna that contain the mismatch. Telomerase is a protein and it slows down that process that shortens the chromosomes.
