Document Summary

Mastering biology: homework 15 (due friday before 10 am) With light reactions we convert light energy into something useful. Also put in some adp and pi (inorganic phosphate). Add light from sun which is absorbed by chlorophyll molecules. Byproducts of this process are oxygen, nadph, and. Atp and nadph then go into the calvin cycle. The calvin cycle does not directly need light. Co2 goes into calvin cycle and the products are sugar, nadp+, adp, and pi. So we have come in a complete circle. First sugar that comes from calvin cycle is trios phosphate. The leaf contain upper epidermis, lower epidermis, and stoma (stomate). When lower epidermis lose water they become flaccid and open stomata. When they gain water they bend and close stomata. The upper part is the xylum which is the part where water comes up through the leaf. The mesophyll cells (photosynthesis) are capable of doing photosynthesis because that is where the chlorophyll are.
