Seas (soluble egg antigens) hydrolytic enzymes, get egg to organ lumen (tissue damaging) Ganulomas around eggs fibrosis + calcification: migratory - asymptomatic, acute katayama fever. Tnf cytokine = vitamin for egg production: chronic - repeated exposure to heavy infections (years) Intestine = chronic diarrhea, maybe bloody due to gut wall fibrosis/ulceration. Liver = portal hypertension (pipe stem fibrosis hepatic portal vein) liver fibrosis, hepatosplenomegaly: very severe chronic. Ascites: japonicum most likely in ectopic to brain, lungs (=underdeveloped children, migratory - asymptomatic, chronic. Portal blood filtration (post rx) - heavy infections.
