Highly recommended: biol 2051, 3090 * m/w i will be in highland hall but available from 8-2:00 pm by appointment. Thursday 1-2:30 i will hold office hours for microbial pathogens but you may drop by. This is 4000 level course which explores the basics of immunology. This is not to teach clinical skills but to show students the application of immunology to real life. Goals for the instructor: to provide resources that will enable students to understand the biology and immune response to infection, to challenge the students to apply this information is real-life scenarios. Basic immunology: functions and disorders of the immune system by abbas and lichtman, saunders publishers 4th. You are required to read the material and keep up with the lectures and do assignments. This will require a significant time outside of the course-please plan accordingly (6 hrs weekly).
