Document Summary

There are two classes of effects of messages: message evaluations and message outcomes. Message evaluations (otherwise known as me) are the recipient"s displayed emotions and/or reactions to the message, as well as, at times, its sender. Message outcomes refer to the events/effects that occur after the message is sent. Persuasive message involves attempting to get the recipient to display the actions, emotions, or empathy that you desire. An example of this is when i missed my statistics lab last tuesday because i looked at the wrong week and believed that i didn"t have a lab. I had to explain to my professor that i have three jobs, six classes, and four exams that week, resulting in me being a mess when it came to my schedule. I apologized and said that it would never happen again, and that i realized it was disrespectful to his time and class that i didn"t show up to the lab.
