Document Summary
It is knowingly transmitted by a sender (it"s different than "i said the wrong thing") There is intent--> to foster a false belief or conclusion. *i don"t believe (in order to be deception, you have to actually believe) Ex: girl in nike shorts eating mcd"s and smoking is evidence that she is not dressed that way to actually work out. What statement or condition did someone lie?-->identifying what the person actually lied about. What did i believe the untruthful statement/condition to be true? (just because we think that it"s true, it may not be) Takes place between free subjects (they can act) *-product of action : rests on persuasion of free subjects. Can not be means that are physically coercive. Relational (we both get something out of it. Omnipresent within all actions (it is always there and we are constantly deciding who gets power and when they get power)
