The first real experience i had with literacy was when i lived with my grandma in texas. I could not stand that old lady she was so old fashioned. I had two brothers who were only slightly older and younger than me. Well for some reason she choose me to start harping on. Telling me we have it to easy and that were lazy now a days. I was only in fourth grade when she started forcing me to read. It was not just a little reading it was a lot. She had me reading text books from school and started having me go through a dictionary every day. I hated reading so much because of her. There was a flip side to it though since i was reading so much about crap i hated, when she let me read a book i picked out i really enjoyed it.
