EDCI 2700 Chapter : Article Abstract 2
Document Summary
Retrieved april 13, 2011, from healthy place: http://www. healthyplace. com/depression/children/depression-in-school-age-children-and- adolescents-characteristics-assessment-and-prevention/menu-id-68/ However the theme of the article seemed to focus more on the darker side of depression rather than how it should be approached. Not only is the piece mostly about suicide in children, but it the first huge chunk of the article. The other topics mentioned in the title do not come into play until the end and only hold a page and a half worth of information. Being based almost entirely on the risks and signs of suicide instead of depression, this article would be very scary for a concerned parent or teacher who is suspicious of a students current state. By introducing the most extreme outcome of possible having depression first and as boldly as the article does, could cause complete panic and cause a student with depression to undergo even more anxiety.
