Character(ization: character vs characterization, characters are people actors/agents in narratives. Can be any person place or thing that causes verbs/actions. A place can be a character, animals can be characters (they influence behaviors and attitudes, affect some aspect of the plot, drive some aspect of the plot: round vs flat characters. Though we all say we want love, we struggle to accept it. Themes are often subjective, a narrative can have multiple themes and can be cracked even if contradictory. Give depth and make the place understandable, places which we are familiar of. Sensuous quality of new orleans bumpy roads, hot, humid, seafood. These things recall a sense of the place give it character. Who is the narrator: deals with the narrator the speaker of the narrative. Not the author: non participant: third person omniscient (sees into the minds of one or all characters, give options, can also be nonjudgmental)
