Sylvia plath and anne sexton"s poems are wonderful examples of confessional poetry because they both deal with personal experiences. Whether it is talking about death, depression, or relationships, these private experiences give an insight to these poets" lives that invoke a wide range of emotions in the reader. At first, i found sylvia plath"s constant references to the holocaust very disturbing, but as the poem continued, i came to the realization that she was using the tragedy and pain of the. Holocaust victims to describe how awful and painful her depression was. She compared herself to a nazi lampshade and jew linen. although i found these references surprising and disturbing, the point was made about how she was feeling. One of my close friend"s mother tried to commit suicide and failed. She said she did it because at some point she just lost control of her body.
