Geography (geo-earth) (graphein = to write) the study the interdependence: human geography explores human interactions spatially, physical geo environmental interactions. Remote sensing aircraft and satellite among geographic areas, natural systems, people and their activities over space. First used for navigation among aircrafts and ships. A computer system capable of capturing, storing, and analyzing and displaying geographically referenced information. Systems theory: flow of energy: ultimate energy source (sun) Open/closed systems : equilibrium, earth is a open system in regards to energy. Open an exchange of energy with surroundings. Closed no exchange of energy with surroundings material recycled. Feedback systems : earth is a closed system in regards to matter or materials. Hypotheses (educated guess) (different than what we usually know the terms for) Geodesy (the study of the shape of the earth) The difference from the north pole to the south, is different than the distance around equator. Equator (only parallel that is a great circle)
