Document Summary

Plane of ecliptic is the imaginary plane along the earths orbital plane with the sun. Earths tilt 23. 5 degrees relative to the perpendicular to the earths orbit. Earth maintains the same alignment relative to the plane of the ecliptic. North pole points in the same direction relative to the stars : polaris. Sub solar point: location on earth where sun is overhead: it moves with the seasons. Equinox: the sun hits directly in the equator, equal days and nights, subsolar point hits the equator. Solstice: varies, sun hits directly to the tropics, come to stand or stop. Radiant energy: emitted by all bodies with temp more than the absolute 0.
