Course description geology and the environment (pre-req: geol1001 or geol1111) Interaction between human activities and geological processes, hazards, and materials; emphasis on environmental geology of louisiana and the gulf coast. Keller, e. introduction to environmental geology, 5th edition, prentiss hall (2012). A used or rental copy of the textbook is acceptable. Students are expected to have read the assigned chapters prior to class to acquire the necessary background for full participation in class discussion. In general, lsu expects you to spend about 6 outside-of-class hours per week for a 3 credit hour course.
