Blegen discovered the tablets in 1939 (around the time ww2 was happening. ) Michael ventris, young english linguist, decided to break the linear b code. Translated the word tripod, realized that linear b was written by greeks (ti-ri-po- de and 3-footed vase) Production and trade of wine and olive oil. Ended by 1100 bc (just like hitites and new kingdom egypt!) Homer mentioned the dorians, rough rugged people who messed everything up in. Some historians think that the dorians were always a threat to the ancient greeks. Highly active plate tectonic region, could have been an earthquake.
