The new empires were founded by people named turks. They were warriors and they were able to conquer a lot of land and convert to islam. The mughal empire was in india and islam was spread there. Turks were mainly in turkey but other places as well: ottoman ascendency, 1300-1500, osmon was the turk that founded the ottoman empire. Sogut and then he conquered out by 1326 and it had crossed over and expanded into europe by the end of the 14 century. In 1989 (600 years later), the serbs were planning the retaking of kosovo. This area had been taken over by muslims. The serbian nationalism strive was a very bloody battle and 10 years later they took over kosovo: the ottoman"s had realized that the original rules of the conquers with respect. Constantinople was the were good and they continued to govern based off of the original rules.
