Islam is the 2nd largest religion in the world next to christianity &growing. At age 40 he begins having visions and goes to cave and is visited by gabriel. Gabriel tells him there are not many gods, but there is 1. He flees for his life to medina where he finds acceptance as an administrator. There he develops followers and feels adequate to return to mecca in 1620. By the time he dies there is much controlled by islam. He believes jesus to be a prophet, having the word of god, but not god"s son & that god could not take human form. Qu"ran is the word of god through muhammed. It is build on the old and new testament. Muhammed believed that the qu"ran could not be translated and to read it you must learn arabic (unlike the bible translated to many language to be read by all of the world)
