There was an alliance b/n british manufactures and american growers. They were hugging the coast and relying on trade from the atlantic. At the end of the war the american settlers want to push west because they want land. Then the proclamation of 1763 says there cannot be any british-american settlers across the proclamation line. The british don"t want any more troops to defend them over there. In 1765 the stamp act is passed for revenue. Everyone who used paper had to pay a tax on it that would go back to britain.
