Impact of french and indian war (1754 to 1763) First world war between the british in north america and the french in north america. At stake is who will control the continent. Just wanted to talk and work it out. French send an army after washington after the ambassador is killed. Indians lose a lot of power: have a say in their destiny in north america. 1754 (first 3 years: french have the upper hand, french win battle after battle. British finally get their act together when they elect a new leader named. Spain so that the british wouldn"t obtain it: before the war was over, the french gives the louisiana territory to territory to the british. Ends the war with the treaty of paris where france officially evacuates north. British has a huge debt from the war and are concerned about colonists moving westward and that they will encroach of the spanish territory.
