Document Summary
The forbidden city and tiananmen square were one of the most interesting places we visited while in china. They both held such historical and emotional significance for me. It was nice to finally be able to say that i had seen both of them in person. Tiananmen square was a huge courtyard that i would have loved to visit had there not been so many people. Mao"s mausoleum that was next to it was also very large. Tiananmen square i could not help but cry from thinking of all the innocent people who died there a few years ago to stand up for freedom. The square itself was huge with the centerpiece in the middle and a large wall around in the front of it. The large wall had a digital screen that played advertisements. At the top steps of the centerpiece there was six students standing guard attentive and unmoving.
