Document Summary
These four articles deal with generating revenues and organizational hybridity. In the first article, organizational mission and revenue diversity among non-profit sports clubs, wicker, Feiler, and breuer (2013) analyze the relationship between organizational mission and revenue diversification in non-profit sports clubs in germany. Wicker et al. "s (2013) analysis builds on previous research (chang and tuckman, 1991) to expand our understanding of how revenue diversification affects nonprofits. Revenue diversification is important because financial stability can be ensured through the diversification of income streams; thus, this research topic matters. To answer this question, panel data from the first (2005), third (2009), and fourth (2011) waves of the sport development report 2011/2012 was used for empirical analysis. Revenue diversification was measured by the herfindahl index (1-herf). This study also controlled for other potential influencing factors such as organizational size, type of sport, year of the data, and state. There are three main findings to this study.
