This report contains the process and conclusions of a laboratory experiment performed to determine the tensile properties and behavior of two different polymers materials. These experiments replicate, as nearly as practical, the service conditions. We used a nylon sample as a thermoplastic polymer and an acrylic sample as thermosetting polymer. Thorough understanding of engineering phenomenon such as creep and stress. Relaxation was revised to better grasp the procedures and results of this experiment. Instron tensile testing machine at lsu was used to perform the tensile test on both of the specimens. The computer connected to machine collected data-points periodically. Other mechanical properties and behavior-graph can be generated using these data. After results, the thermoplastic polymer turned out to be tougher than thermosetting one.
