Early in earth"s history there was a great deal of carbon dioxide but not oxygen: 3 billion years ago, oxygen producing bacteria formed. If you were to divide the animal into different sections like a pie, all segments would be a mirror image of the other. Sperm fertilizes egg and a free swimming larval stage is produced: class hydrozoa, class of cnidarians, diversity of forms and life histories, organisms can look like a little medusa or can look like branching plants (bryozoans) Siphonophores: colonial hydrozoans, hydrozoans that have different individuals living together in a large colony in which certain individuals are specialized for different tasks. Specialized to produce large float at the surface to move towards the beach: pelagic predators. Ingesting organic rich sediments: preying on other animals, using a complex system of tentacles to function as filter or suspension feeders, class polychaeta, free living worm, tube worms, within the tube is a worm, phylum mollusca, class gastropoda.
