Water makes up 65% of humans, blood is 83% water. Atoms, subatomic particles even smaller, contains nucleus with protons and neutrons with electrons orbiting. Ions are atoms that have lost or gained an electron and have an electrical charge. Goiters results from insufficient amount of iodine, essential for thyroid gland function. A molecule is a group of two or more atoms held together by mutually shared electrons. Smallest form of a substance that can exist and still maintain original properties. Water is bonded with covalent bonds and these bonds require a lot of energy to break. The two hydrogen atoms are separated by 105 degrees. Unique because h is on same side (mickey mouse) form this way because o has 4 bonding sites. O side is slightly negative and h side is slightly positive. When water molecules join, they align based on polarity, + charged hydrogen interats with the oxygen end of an adjacent molecule.
