In the northern hemisphere an object will follow a path to the left of its intended direction, whereas in the southern hemisphere an object will follow a path to the right of its intended direction. The coriolis effect is stronger in higher latitudes. This is shown by the example of the two missles. It identifies that the rate of change of the rotational velocity increases as latitude increases away from the equator. The land heats the air around it and warm, low-density air over the land rises. Rising air creates a low-pressure region over the land, pulling the cooler air over the ocean toward land, creating a sea breeze. At night, the land surface cools about five times faster than the ocean and cools the air around it.
