In the midst of a scene his characters would make a speech in a philosophical point of view. Youngest and the last of the greek tragedians. It"s unusual for greek tragedy to include female characters. Euripides (485-406 bce: interested in human psychology, uses female characters, openly questions religion and religious traditions expressed in the homeric myths, his plays are filled with philosophical arguments. He probably offended his audiences using religion in particular. He presented his plays 22 times at the festival, but only won first place 5 times. He wrote about 92 plays; we know the titles of 80 of them; we have 19 of his tragedies. He was associated with the philosophical movement called the soplists. He lives in a cave and wrote a lot in that cave. He left athens in about 408 bce. At the next festival, sophocles dressed his chorus in black in honor of euripides.
