An individual"s characteristic pattern of thinking, feeling, and acting. Temperament: inborn tendency to behave a certain way. Some baby find it easy to self sooth themselves. Easy: happy & tend to be easy to deal with. Slow-to-warm-up: calm baby but not meaning a happy baby. Secure: children that feel safe and okay to explore environment and are easily soothed with mother comes back. Avoidant: when she leaves they barely notice & when she comes back they don"t notice. Resistant: when she is there they don"t care. Disorganized: sit there in a weird disoriented kind of way. The more he talked to her about her symptoms the quicker the symptoms left. Free association: getting patients to sit & talk about things that were on their mind. Fixated: when a child was punished for something & they just stayed at that point. The reality principle: help balances id & superego.
