Course objectives: this course is used to introduce basic exercise science concepts through aerobic and anaerobic conditioning principles. The objectives of this course are to provide students with: 1 an understanding of the importance of promoting physical activity across the lifespan and its impact on society. 2 a basic understanding of health and skill related components of physical fitness. 3 an understanding of the principles of specificity, overload, and progression as is applies to various training regimens. 4 an understanding of the principles of cardiovascular, strength and endurance and flexibility conditioning.
