Whenever siddhartha turns 30 he is married and has kids, and the god"s decided to fork the king"s plan of keeping siddhartha from seeing the 4 sights, so that when the gods are reincarnated siddhartha can teach them. So the gods prompt siddhartha to want to see the city and the king plans a safe parade route. The gods place all 4 of the sights along the parade route. Asceticism- he goes into the forest and meditates for years.
