Document Summary
After asking three white people the question how they would describe themselves over the phone to someone who has never seen them before, Most of them, however, all said physical characteristics (tall, green eyes, pale, blonde, etc. ). My boyfriend stated he was short, had brown hair, green eyes, and quiet in social situations. Similar to my white friends, they said descriptions like short and curvy with brown eyes or dark hair and dark eyes, about 6" . A difference i did notice between the different groups was that the whites never said they were. White they just went straight into saying other characteristics, whereas my other friends all made it a point to state their ethnicity first. Perhaps that goes to show that nonwhites are proud of their heritage and would describe themselves to others by making that known first and foremost!
