People viewed as rational actors (rational- choice) attempting to maximize their benefits and minimize their costs. Feminist theory: sociological theory that focuses on the domination of women by men: developed to better understand and transform the social inequalities women face. Gender is the central concept: we created it, it"s not real, we created gender roles. Breadwinner-homemaker model is not equally beneficial to women.
