Choreographer: designer of the dance; makes the routine. Ballet master/mistress: teach classes & rehearse pieces; learn every part of a dance. Principal dancer: lead dancer(s); used in modern/american ballet companies. Ballerina (prima ballerina assoluta): lead female dancer; used in europe. Not considered ballerina until have danced the major roles. Demi soloist: little solos then go back to chorus. Corps de ballet (body of the ballet) those who do not have solos. Technical director: responsible for physical aspect of show; make sure sets are ordered, hire crew, take care of symphony, etc. Lighting designer: decides the lights; a critical part of artistic team. Stage manager: calls the show (cues); usually at stage right with a headset. House manager: communicates with stage manager when house (audience) is ready. Overture: an orchestral piece that has some of the major melodies of the performance.
