Choreographers must have passion, dedication, commitment, patience, respect and sensitivity. Usually observant, perceptive, inquisitive, and knows technique and how the body works. The creative process is thought to be directly linked to the choreographer"s subconscious mind. Choreography can be thought before or after a rehearsal, planned out or spur of the moment, and can be collaborative or not.
