Matriculation exam in finland: very rigorous exam that lasts over 50 hours. Teachers followed the kids to bathrooms to ensure they weren"t cheating. Students didn"t like school because of the testing. Put extreme amount of stress on students at the very end of their high school career. Need to treat everyone the same so that they can push all of their students and give them all a fair chance in succeeding. No excuses for students so that we can set the same expectations for all students. Can come in many forms throughout the education system. Diversity within the class of different academic backgrounds/socioeconomic status, could hardly tell because the teachers taught the lessons the same way. Addressed more as a temporary fix rather than a permanent disability. Happens more in the lower grades so that students won"t fall further behind. Students with profound needs are sent to a different school. Special classes: smaller grouped classes with more individualized learning.
