Business case: a justification for a proposal showing that the recommended course of action is good for an organization and makes business sense: solicited sales proposals. Statement of work (sow): a proposal or section of a proposal that identifies exactly what you will deliver, at what cost, in what time frame, and under what conditions: unsolicited proposals, grant proposals and other proposals for funding. Grant proposal: proposal requesting funding, typically from governmental agencies or charitable foundations. Cover message: a letter, memo, or email accompanying a formal report or proposal, designed to explain the document and persuade the audience to read it. Formal proposals are usually accompanied by some form of cover message. Software as a service (saas): software that is hosted by the software provider and available on the internet.
