Physical development: growth and change in years 2 and 3 (toddlerhood) Average boy is slightly taller and heavier than average girl. Toddlers in developed countries grow more rapidly than in developing countries. Kwashiorkor: protein deficiency lethargy, thinning hair, irritability. Increased amount of waking up at night (due to teething, separation from parents) Stand on one leg, climbing: ~15 months. Kick a ball/throw an object: ~ 24 months. Continues development; not as drastic as gross motor development. Eg) gripping a spoon, left-right hand preference, etc. Physical development: socializing and physical functions: toilet training and weaning.
