He quickly became the religious political and military leader of yathrib. Under his leadership form 622 until his death in 632 the people of yathrib conquered almost all of arabia. Meaning that almost of the tribes in the peninsula was conquered and unified under one rule. After muhammad s death, people got together to elect a new leader. The title given to a new leader was caliph, meaning the representative. The caliph was the political, military, and religious leader of all muslms. Caliph omar i 634- 644 the second caliph was omar the first from 634 to 644. During his time in charge, muslim armies began expanding quite quicly outside of arabia.
