First major conflict between darius, king of persia, and alexander. Arrogant, doesn"t wait for darius to start fighting. Prepares his troops by giving a kick-ass speech, inspires them tyre (333/332) He spends seven months building a bridge in order to claim the island. He crucifies the 2,000 male survivors on the beaches of tyre (brutal and ruthless). Egyptians think that alexander is their god, ammon. Darius and alexander meet again on the fields of gaugamela! Alexander turns back and saves his countrymen, instead of killing darius persepolis. The battle of gaugamela leads alexander to follow darius, he loots persepolis and then burns it to the ground. This is the worst thing you can do to your enemy! Still has not caught darius, so he moves east darius king of the persians. Alexander and his troops come across darius" body because one of his guys kills him instead!
