Sociology tends to focus on the group level. Social psychology tends to focus on individual. Interactionist perspective- behavior a function of the interaction. Also time of crisis and heated debate. Acceptance of many methods of investigation in addition to laboratory experiments. Integration of both hot and cold perspectives: hot focuses on emotion and motivation, cold focuses on cognition. One of the more well-known case studies (phineas gage) Correlational method: vip correlation does not prove causation. Establishes degree of relationship (correlation) between items.
