As our culture becomes more global, our workplaces will become increasingly diverse, and therefore homogenous teams will become less and less common. How differences in communication norms can cause interpersonal conflict. Norm - standard of behavior typical of a particular group. Individual norm - particular member of that group considers to be normal behavior. Communication norms - seen in how people from different cultures respond to compliments. What feels "normal" to you may be different from what feels "normal" to others.
