Diverse team is composed of people of different genders, ethnicities, or education backgrounds or from different geographic regions. Diverse teams outperform homogenous teams, particularly on complex tasks without clear solutions. More likely to propose diverse solutions to problems. Have more opportunities for such constructive conflict than teams in which everybody thinks and acts alike. Diverse teams are less likely than homogenous ones to propose solutions that work only for a single group of people. As our culture becomes more global, our workplaces will become increasingly diverse, and therefore homogenous teams will become less and less common. How differences in communication norms can cause interpersonal conflict. Norm - standard of behavior typical of a particular group. Individual norm - particular member of that group considers to be normal behavior. Communication norms - seen in how people from different cultures respond to compliments. What feels "normal" to you may be different from what feels "normal" to others.
