Scientists rely on accumulated knowledge to make observations. Sometimes the serendipity of a situation leads to scientific observations. Most observations rely on technological tools to make indirect observations. Scientific knowledge is built through hypothesis and theories. Science must collect all possible explanations to test. Ignaz semime/weis discovered childbed fever was caused by unclean hands. Eniwetok was created from layers of coral above a volcano. Expectations generated by a scientific idea and the actual observations relevant ot those expectations form a scientific argument.
