King was an unemployed 25-year-old african american who was stopped due to violation of motor vehicle laws, they said he was speeding and refused to stop. Once he stopped, officers attacked him, shocked him twice with electronic stun guns and striked him with nightsticks and fists. He was kicked in the stomach, face, and back, and was left with 11 skull fractures, missing teeth, a crushed cheekbone and a broken ankle. The entire incident was captured on videotape by a amateur photographer with a night- sensitive video camera. At first in 1992 in california, they were found not guilty. No one is above the law, even the police.
