Think of barriers, obstacles, and things we take for grant that would be a problem for someone who had a sensory, intellectual, or physical disability. Write a paragraph about your experience and your reaction to that experience. The size of the umd campus shocks all freshman; walking from one side of campus to another can take 25 minutes. Now imagine this walk with any sort of diability, and the timeframe increases. Except for the few and heart wrenching hills, campus is pretty flat and accessible. Most buildings do have ramps and automated doors for those who cannot use the stairs or open the heavy doors.
