It is through technology that we have really been driven into the age of data. Since data can now be electronically obtained, the volumes available are overwhelming. From aircraft to cars to bridges, the internet, cell phones, retail checkout scanners, surveillance video, and sensors on everything enable us to collect and store vast amounts of data in real time. The word big data has been established in the midst of all of this data collection. The universally accepted definition of big data does not exist. The most accepted and most general concept, however, is possibly that big data is any collection of data that is too big or too complex for traditional data processing techniques and conventional desktop software to manage.
