ANTH 161 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4: Religion In Israel

15 views1 pages

Document Summary

No matter where i go, there are expressions of religion everywhere. On campus, i see people wearing symbols of their religion: kippas on heads, crosses near hearts, and veils draped across hair. When driving through town i see churches, chapels, and temples, and in stores, i see. However, the diversity of these symbols is different in. Eugene than my hometown in the bay area. In san jose, our population is very diverse and so we have just as many temples, mosques, and synagogues as we do churches. Bay area is absolutely incredible, we have people from all over the world, with different languages, cultures, and religions. Even at my catholic high school, we did field trips to temples, had guest lecturers from synagogues and mosques, and had multi-faith prayers at every mass. It was impossible to walk down the street without seeing at least three different examples of faith and religion.
