Applying the sociological imagination to a personal experience helps explain how societal trends are important factors that contribute towards the events in a person"s past. The sociological imagination can be applied to my experience with depression and anxiety. Depression is a mood disorder that includes a low, sad state marked by significant levels of sadness, lack of energy, low self-worth, guilt, or related symptoms. Anxiety is where one continuously worries, which leads to physical symptoms like tension and increased blood pressure.
