Fiery signal in the sky; shone in the eastern sky in the middle of the night and burned till the break of day. Temple of xiuhtecuhtli was damaged by lightning bolt from a light rain/drizzle. Fire streamed through the sky while the sun was still out; the fire then divided into 3 parts. Wind lashed at the water until it boiled + flooded houses. One woman cried every night, declaring that she must flee far away from the city . Strange creature captured in net, like a black crane. It had a mirror on its head and it showed stars and mamalhuaztl. Monsters; deformed men with two heads but one body. Other signs a little before spainards arrived were: Radiance that shone in the east every morning; 3 hours before sun actually rose. Whirlwind of dust from the top of matlacueye aka sierra de tlaxcala. Magicians agreed with omens; disappeared before giving any more good information.
